Job Description Primary Responsibilities• Responsibilities include technical focus, capacity management, problem solving, root cause analysis, engineering design, cost estimating, financial management, project management, and system documentation.
• Organize and plan mechanical systems design activities, construction documents and project management in conjunction with other design disciplines. Ensure projects and systems are cost effective and meet the desired design criteria while adhering to budget and schedule guidelines.
• Forecast costs and manage expenditures for new construction and/or sustaining operations and report deviations to management.
• Work to integrate reliability focus and risk analysis into Systems Engineering job scope. This includes FMEA, root cause analysis, design, commissioning and training.
• Develop and review operations and maintenance procedures/programs with team to ensure use of best practices.
• Be available to Operations during and after normal business hours if there are technical issues on systems.
• Influence supplier performance via management and audits of work performed in the field.
• Develop relationships and communicate with engineering & other personnel at other TI sites to ensure best practices are communicated between sites.
• Perform 5S responsibilities in accordance with current policies.
• Spend time throughout the facility examining equipment and system components, assisting maintenance on technical issues, managing suppliers, maintaining area 5S conditions and supervising projects.
• Regularly assess the current operating performance of systems and coordinate with Operations and Maintenance to make adjustments and repairs.
• Participate in corporate initiatives as required like Process System Teams and strategic focus teams.
• Use Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint, SAP, AutoCAD, Maximo, STARS, FIS databases and similar software to complete various tasks associated with the work above.
• The particular systems for which the successful candidate will be responsible will be determined based upon the skill sets and experiences of the candidate and the current members of the engineering team.
