Job description

The Network Engineer is responsible for the deployment, monitoring, and maintenance of networking environments encompassing the text, image, voice, and data communication for clients. The position reports to the Service Team Leader or Service Manager.

Successful Network Engineers have the initiative, enthusiasm, and resourcefulness to escalate problems, requirements, and special issues as appropriate. With the ability to communicate across discipline and work well individually and in a team, they are good in leading and providing guidance to junior members of the teams. They are able to reprioritize, organize workflow processes to achieve efficiency, work under pressure, and willing to learn new technologies.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for defining and executing appropriate procedures based on the process and policy requirements
  • Review and enhance training materials and adequately train staff for Event Management.
  • Conduct research on network products, services, protocols and standards to remain abreast of developments in the networking industry.
  • Maintains network support process, accurate status records for ongoing projects, documentation of network configurations, network mapping, processes, and service records.
  • Interacts with vendors and contractors to secure network products.
  • Deploys LANs, WANs and wireless networks, including servers, routers, hubs, switches, UPSs, and other communication hardware.
  • Uses network management software and other tools to collect performance statistics and create reports.
  • Implements best practice policies and procedures for all projects and policies and procedures for network administration, usage, and disaster recovery.

    Qualifications

    • Minimum requirement of Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT Systems Engineering or equivalent technical studies.
    • 6+ years Field or Technology experience in networking.
    • Excellent command of English (written and verbal).
    • Cisco CCNP qualified.
