Job description
The
successful candidate is expected to be skilled in mainstream production
geology and be expected to take the lead in coordinating well delivery
projects and full field reviews. The incumbent must have a good
understanding of other subsurface disciplines and be able to work in a
team to deliver fully integrated solutions.

- Lead/contribute to Full Field Reviews and keep stakeholders up to date with progress at key milestones
- Lead/contribute to well delivery/well abandonment projects, determining data acquisition requirements, contributing to PPP (Pore Pressure Prediction), and seeking Technical Assurance in accordance with the Upstream HSSE Critical Activities process
- Lead/contribute to static model builds and/or updates using all available seismic, well, and analogue data.
- Lead/contribute to Integrated Reservoir Modelling and Close the Loop (CtL) workflows
- Lead/contribute integrated Well, Reservoir and Facility Management activity plans that identify potential Near Field Exploration (NFE), infill or recompletion opportunities
- Provide reviews on static modelling work, subsurface uncertainty analysis and volumetric estimation
- Apply a sound understanding of Carbonate facies and diagenesis to identify key controls on rock property distributions and their potential impact to hydrocarbon recovery
- Coach and mentor younger Production Geologist /Production Seismologist across all development teams
- Ensure compliance to technical and data management procedures, standards and customer-supplier relationships
- Technical Assurance experiences and/or Subject Matter Expert status in Carbonate Production Geology or related subjects.
Requirements
- University degree in geology or geophysics, preferably with a carbonate background
- At least 10 years of working experience in exploration and/or development subsurface evaluation and carbonate experience preferred
- Experience managing cross disciplinary projects such as field development and well delivery processes
- Ability to make independent recommendations/decisions
- Well-developed communication, integration, influencing and team working skills. The candidate must have the ability to converse fluently with management, other disciplines, partners and regulators
- Thorough understanding of the Exploration and Production business
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to coach, influence and inspire are essential
- A valid visa or authorisation to work in Malaysia is required for this position.
