About the Role: Working closely with existing Process, Electrical and Mechanical Engineers, external contractors and other cross-functional teams, this role will primarily support the Malaysia Projects team in the design of Civil and Structural engineering works at Kerry’s sites around the country. For the right candidates further opportunities exist to support projects across the APAC region as required.Key Responsibilities:• To lead civil engineering projects with the goal of ensuring that the final agreed design meets project goals and is in compliance with applicable codes, accepted practices and standards.
• Undertake technical and feasibility studies and site investigations
• Prepare or modify drawings, prepare calculations, develop specifications, create and present written reports
• Plan, implement and manage project schedules for on time delivery. Develop and control civil project budgets and other project resources.
• Liaise with and manage third party contractors at the site level ensuring all safety and quality standards are maintained
• Assess the potential risks of specific projects
• Supervise tendering procedures
• Oversee the work of junior staff or mentor other Engineers as and when required
• Communicate and liaise effectively with colleagues, Architects, Sub-Contractors and Consultants
• Resolve design and development problems, thinking both creatively and logically
• Manage any change requirements and notify relevant parties of any changes during the course of a project
• Compile / check / approve reports as required
• Assist to schedule material and equipment purchases and delivery
• Adopt all relevant requirements around issues such as building permits, environmental regulations, sanitary design, good manufacturing practices and safety on all work assignments
• Ensure that a project runs smoothly and that the structure is completed on time and within budget
• Correct any project deficiencies that affect production, quality and safety requirements before final evaluation and project reviews.
Person Specification:Qualifications, Skills and Experience:• Candidates must possess a relevant Civil Engineering qualification
• Required skill(s): Project Management, MS Office, AutoCad
• Required language(s): Bahasa Malaysia, English
• A solid record of accomplishment in the management of civil engineering projects within FMCG or Manufacturing industries
• A minimum 9 years’ experience in this discipline
